A Bucket of Blood (1959) Light-hearted beatnik comedy with the great Dick Miller
Carnival Of Souls (1962) Creepy, surreal, striking
The Brain that Wouldn’t Die (1962) Surprisingly raunchy, a main character you love to hate, well-deserved revenge all around
Night of the Living Dead (1968) Genuinely terrifying
Horror Express (1972) Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee being total bitches to each other, truly risible science, also Telly Savalas is drunk
There are several more on here that I love dearly for being Really Really Bad but not everyone laughs at bad movies the way I do.
And here are some that I regarded as disappointments:

The Naked Witch (1961) no nudity and barely a witch

Color Like a Classic Comic Book
I’m doing some tinkering on Fauxstalgia stuff, and since I believe in sharing resources, here’s an RGB PNG version of the official DC pantone guide, with the swatches re-sampled from current pantone standards. This set is from 1982, but should be generally believable for most stuff post-WWII.
The versions floating around online (two of which are under the fold) are scans of prints and are not accurate for color-picking.
Now, these colors would also be altered by the printing process, but for clean, pre-print versions, here’s some authenticity.
“aborted fetuses are not technically lives and it’s harmful and not medically accurate to refer to them that way” and “people who have early miscarriages of wanted pregnancies are still allowed to grieve and consider them their child” are two statements that can and should coexist
“people who made the difficult decision to have an abortion because it’s right for them and their situation are still allowed to grieve how things could have been if their circumstances had been different” is another statement that should be added
